Main influence for my music video

My main music video influence was Kesha - Tok Tok, this is because it has a very visual narrative, which is what i want to show through my video. Although her video has narrative as well as clips of her singing vocals, i want mine to be purely narrative.
Her video is very 'pastiche,' its simply imitating something in order to sell it. She does this by having references which her audience will be able to relate to. For example, her brushing her teeth, which is a regular daily routine for everyone. when people recognise something and can relate to it they want to buy it. It then shows her getting ready for a 'big night out' putting on her boots and walking through her kitchen (where her family are enjoying a meal) to the door showing a rebellious contrast between her and her family. I don't want to create a contrast between people, i want to create one through the original video for 'funkytown' and my make of 'funkytown.'
When she is putting on her 'western American cowgirl boots' this reminded me of Jessica Simpson - These boots are made for walking. When the party scene starts, straight away it reminds me of 'Skins.' It reminds me of 'skins' because of the amount of light exposed and the whole movement of the clips with the fast cuts and flashing lights. This is what creates the 'bricolage' which is the coming together of different intertextual references to create one idea or one piece.
I want to create my 'funkytown' video in a way for people to relate back to the 'Tik Tok' video, as i think its a video made for people to be able to relate to which makes people want to buy the video.
